Did God bless us with a terrific Lord’s Day last Sunday or what! Praise the Lord for Emily Walker’s public profession of faith in Christ as her Savior and Lord! Also, praise the Lord for Omega Grimm’s decision to transfer her letter of membership and join our church. It is so encouraging to see God at work in our church!

Our next baptism is scheduled for Sunday morning July 19th. Please consider being baptized as an expression of your faith in Christ if you have never done so. Baptism will never get you one inch closer to heaven or one ounce fuller of God’s presence in your life. However, it is a beautiful way of demonstrating obedience to Christ, identifying with His death, burial and resurrection; and, testifying to the world that you are one of His followers. If you missed it ... you really missed it! Thanks to everyone who helped make Christian Talent Night such a big success. All the songs and signing were terrific! CPBC certainly has talent. Special recognitions to Stephen "Spielberg" Flint who produced, starred in and otherwise caught our attention (if not off guard) in his action packed, special effects spectacular movie the "Born Again Identity." If you missed it ... well, you know the rest!

Please call me by Tuesday evening if you would like to go with us to the game (Cell 386-7806, Church 262-9743). This is a family fun event! We will leave the church at 6:00. Fireworks will follow the game. Tickets are $9.50 each. Everyone is invited, but I need to know who is coming so I can purchase tickets as a group Wednesday morning allowing us to sit in the same section.

 Summer of Missions!

  VBS, July 13-17

Motley Baptist Church, Hurt, Virginia

Motley Baptist Church is located in rural south, central Virginia. It is now the home of our Associate Pastor Emeritus Mitch Etheridge who is serving as their interim pastor. His congregation is older and is declining. However a goodly number of children and young families live in the area surrounding his church. Our hope is to reach those families for Christ and introduce them to Motley Baptist Church by leading a mission Vacation Bibles School in their community. We will leave in shifts on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before that week, with most of us returning on the following Saturday.

Haiti Mission Trip

We will wrap up our Summer of Missions with a mission trip to Haiti. I am not sure at this time of the exact dates and of the exact tasks which need to be done, but I can assure you:

1. You will further the cause of Christ and meet real needs in that dark, desperate country.

2. You will never be the same!
